Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Salim Saifullah Khan said on Saturday that establishing strong bonds of unity and cohesion among all shades of life was need of the hour to meet the challenges facing the country.
Talking to various delegations of elders of Marwat Qaumi Jirga, office-bearers of Muslim League, UC representatives, Ulema at his native district Lakki Marwat, the Federal Minister stressed upon the people not to pay any heed to the negative propaganda of the opposition parties and demonstrate unity in their ranks and files.
The present leadership had put the country on road to progress and prosperity, which had no precedence in the country's history since its inception, he said, adding according to the President's vision, every house in backward Lakki Marwat district would be electrified and would be provided the facility of clean drinking water and gas.
He said Saifullah brothers' contribution in redressing problems of the Lakki Marwat district was an open secret as their prime aim was to protect the rights of its dwellers.
He informed the people that a detailed summary had been submitted to the Federal government about financial damages caused due to recent hailstorm and rains, and impressed upon the provincial government to take possible step to this effect.
Salim Saifullah Khan said that since the NWFP government was not providing any development funds to the Lakki district, therefore, he assured to provide the same to the Union Council Nazim and councillors from his own development funds.
On this occasion, the delegates expressed concern over the public order in the district, and urged the NWFP government to take practical steps for improving law and order situation. District Nazim Humayun Saifullah Khan was also present on the occasion.
