The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited applications from outstanding Pakistani/AJK nationals for the award of scholarships during (2007-08) for higher studies in selected fields.
The scholarships will be awarded for the academic session starting from fall 2007 or Spring 2008 in HEC identified world top ranked universities of the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Singapore etc, says a press release.
The HEC has announced that the candidates for these scholarships must have minimum 16 years of education (M.Sc, MA, MBA, ME, MS, B.E / B.Sc (Engg), M.B.B.S or equivalent) and maximum two second divisions throughout the academic career.
Maximum age for the scholarship will be 40 years for full time regular faculty members of public sector universities/colleges and employees of the public sector R & D organisations and 35 years for all others. The HEC has further announced that the applicants who are applying for Physical Sciences, Engineering & Technology and Business Education need to submit GRE/GMAT score.
GRE score will be sent directly through ETS to HEC on institution code GI 9054. GMAT score will be acceptable only for the candidates for Business Studies and the applicants who are applying for Agriculture & Veterinary Sciences, Biological & Medical Sciences, Social Sciences and Arts & Humanities need to have minimum cumulative 50% academic marks as per HEC Academic Evaluation Formula (HEC-AEF). The HEC-AEF is available at HEC website. The last date for the applications is May 30,2007 for all the applicants.
The selection for the scholarships will be awarded on merit and the candidates having MS / M Phil degree (18 years education) will be preferred and those who have already applied for the Overseas Scholarship in previous phases and have not been awarded scholarship are required to re-apply.
