To create awareness about the first ever small and medium enterprises (SME) policy, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) would initiate a series of 15 nation-wide seminars with participation in the big business gala here on May 2.
The Cabinet had recently approved the SME policy of Pakistan and the first seminar of the series on "hassle-free business environment" would be held at Expo Centre, Karachi, here on May 2. Federal Minister for Industries, Production and Special Initiatives, Jahangir Khan Tareen, would be the chief guest.
The seminars have been planned in accordance with Prime Minister's directives to 'co-ordinate a series of information dissemination seminars in collaboration with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Central Board of Revenue (CBR), Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and commercial banks to inform and educate informal sector about the benefits of registering as a company and thereby graduating from informal to formal.'
