Karachi lawyers' fraternity, after a call from the Pakistan Bar Council and the Supreme Court Bar Association would observe a complete strike and boycott court proceedings on Wednesday.
This will be the 9th hearing of the Presidential Reference filed against Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry before the Supreme Judicial Council in Islamabad.
Lawyers will not appear in the Sindh High Court, Special Courts or the Anti Terrorism Courts, Accountability Courtsor the City Courts. They will hold general body meeting and observe a token hunger strike. Members of the Karachi Bar Association will take out a rally from the City Court Building led by its President Iftikhar Javed Qazi. Members of Sindh High Court Bar Association and Malir Bar Association will join the rally at the SHC.
