In a ceremony graced by Liaquat Ali Jatoi, Minister of Water and Power and other high ranking officials of GoP. Atlas Power Limited signed Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Contracts for a 225 MW power plant with MAN Diesel SE Germany & MAN Diesel North America, respectively.
This 225 MW power plant will be commissioned by March 2009. Minister of Water and Power appreciated the efforts of Atlas Group in developing a 225 MW Power Project on Fast Track basis. The project will help Pakistan in meeting the future power demand of the country.
Atlas Power Limited, is a special purpose company formed by Shirazi Investments (Pvt) Limited (Atlas Group) for establishment of a 225 MW power project on Lahore-Sheikhupura Road. The ceremony was attended by Minister for Water and Power, Atlas Group, PPIB and representatives of MAN Germany and MAN North America. Signing of these contacts is a part of GoP's fast track initiatives to meet the increasing power demand in the country on war footing.
MAN Diesel is one of the world's largest manufacturers of reciprocating engines and the supplier of some of the biggest engine based power plants around the globe. MAN Diesel SE has its headquarters in Augsburg, Germany. It has been presented in Pakistan for more than; wo decades by Shirazi Trading Company (Pvt) Ltd, which is one of Atlas Group's companies.-PR
