Ivorian cocoa arrivals seen down

Cocoa arrivals at ports in Ivory Coast from October 1 to May 20 reached around 1,034,000 tonnes, compared with 1,130,114 tonnes in the same period last year, exporters estimated on Monday.
Exporters estimated around 17,000 tonnes of beans were received at the country's two ports during the week of May 14-20, the same amount as in the previous week but well below the 27,343 tonnes delivered in the same week of last year. "There were around 17,000 tonnes last week like in the previous week. It's not bad, even if I was expecting around 20,000 tonnes given that we are now well into the season," said a buyer for a major exporter based in the main city Abidjan.
