Grain exports from the French port of Rouen totalled 166,939 tonnes for May 1-16, comprising 126,573 tonnes of soft wheat and 40,366 tonnes of barley, officials said on Tuesday. That compared to 398,738 tonnes May 1-17 last year, of which 317,418 tonnes of wheat and 81,320 tonnes of barley.
Exports in the whole of May last year totalled 580,000 tonnes, comprising 460,000 tonnes of wheat and 120,000 tonnes of barley. Officials said one vessel was in port on Tuesday, loading 16,000 tonnes of wheat for Morocco. Another vessel was expected soon to load 2,900 tonnes of barley for an unspecified destination.
