Twenty-six members of district assembly, union council Nazims and Naib Nazims, belonging to PPP, PML-N and other political parties, led by Tehsil Nazim Kasur, Agha Naveed Hashim Raza Rizvi and 17 of Tehsil Chunian led by Tehsil Nazim Rana Abad Khan have joined Pakistan Muslim League.
The delegations of the two Tehsils here on Saturday called on Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi separately at Chief Minister's Secretariat and expressed their complete confidence in the dynamic leadership of President Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.
Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs and Local Government Muhammad Basharat Raja was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that due to people-friendly policies and glorious performance of the government, elected representatives of other political parties were joining the PML in large numbers.
He said that PML was the largest political party of the country and its leadership had won the hearts of the people by its educational and economic reforms. He said that PML would contest the forthcoming elections along with its allies and would achieve a thumping victory.
He said that joining of PML by Nazims of Tehsils Kasur and Chunian would further strengthen PML. He welcomed the new entrants into PML and said that their decision would further improve the PML position in these Tehsils.
He said that the provincial government was providing record funds to district governments and it would support Nazims at every level who have joined PML for solution of people's problems.
He said that construction work was in progress on Kasur-Lahore dual carriageway and service road was also being constructed on its both sides. He said that completion of this project would reduce the time of travel between Lahore and Kasur to half-an-hour. He said that the government would provide more funds for construction of roads, sewerage and sanitation system and schools so that basic facilities could become available to the people of these areas.
Tehsil Nazim Kasur, Agha Naveed Hashim Raza Rizvi appreciated the steps of the Chief Minister for development and progress of the province and said that it would result in poverty alleviation and generation of new job opportunities.
Tehsil Nazim Chunian Rana Abad Khan lauded the services and sacrifices of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and his family for PML. They also apprised the Chief Minister of the problems of their respective areas who issued immediate instructions for their solution.
