The residents of twin cities are facing severe load shedding and the government is doing nothing in this respect. The severe load shedding in hot summer season has created a lot of problems for the masses.
The average temperature of the twin cities for the last one week is above 40 degree Centigrades. The hot spell has forced the people to spend their nights outside where at least mild wind blows. "We can not have a sound sleep at night because of the continuous load shedding", Sarmad Khan, a resident of Rawalpindi told Business Recorder.
According to Iesco, the load shedding would be equally carried out in Rawalpindi for half an hour three times daily. But most of the areas of Rawalpindi were experiencing continuous power outages since last night.
Zubair Masood, another resident of Rawalpindi, complained that he could not have complete rest at night just because of severe load shedding. "What did I get from this country, high inflation, poor residential accommodation and severe load shedding", said Amir Subhan, a resident of Islamabad.
Due to severe load shedding, most of the household electric appliances have got out of order. "I bought a new computer last week but because of repeated load shedding, the CPU has got out of order", said Adnan Sahil, a student of Rawalpindi.
"It is true that we produce insufficient electricity because not even a single dam has been constructed for the last three decades. But is this justifiable that the poor masses have to face the penalty on behalf of the former governments", said Sameer Alam, a student of Preston University, Islamabad.
