State Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Aamir Liaquat has resigned from ministership and membership of the National Assembly. Dr Aamir Liaquat dispatched his resignation to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and his staff confirmed it. The state minister along with his wife left for Karachi from Islamabad.
Dr Laiquat confirmed about his resignation and said that he resigned due to personal engagements. He made it clear there is no pressure on him and he resigned due to personal reasons and it has no link with present political or religious situation. The state minister said that he would join religious channel being launched soon and he is making necessary arrangements.
