The Punjab government has sent relief goods and cash of Rs 50 million for flood victims of Balochistan, including 16 trucks loaded with life saving drugs. This was stated by Punjab Minister for Revenue & Relief, Gul Hameed Rokhari while presiding a meeting here on Wednesday. Director General Relief Chaudhry Muhammad Azam and other officers were also present on this occasion.
While giving details of the relief goods, the DG Relief Chaudhry Muhammad Azam said that 200 tents have been sent for Noshahi, likewise 16 trucks loaded with life saving drugs, 500 bottles of mineral water, 70 boxes of biscuits and tea bags have also been dispatched. He further said that a 72-member medical team (doctors and paramedics) has been sent by the Punjab government to provide medical cover to the victims of Balochistan.
The minister said that that every possible help will be extended to the people of Balochistan and no stone will be left unturned in this regard. He said that more relief goods will be sent to the affected areas shortly.
He directed the officers to monitor the situation closely and in case of heavy rains in any part of Punjab, prompt action should be taken to provide immediate help to the people of that area. He was informed that all measures have already been taken and the officials of the concerned departments are on 24 hours duty to deal with any eventuality.
