A cumulative net outflow of portfolio investment from the country's equity market stood at 3.841 million dollars at the end of the first week of new fiscal year (July 6) as the foreign investors opted for profit-taking on the available margins.
According to figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), 23,656,762 dollars were withdrawn by the foreign investors from the country's equity market on July 6. A total of 27,636,037 dollars was withdrawn on July 5 and on July 3 a total of 70,171,778 dollars.
On the other hand, an inflow of 22,612,724 dollars was witnessed on July 6, while July 5 witnessed inflow of 31,026,122 dollars and on July 3, an amount of 57,747,745 dollars came to the country, which translates a net outflow of 3,841,376 dollars from the country's equity market in the first week of new fiscal year.
The figures show that cumulative net inflow of 19,511,090 dollars was registered from the US; 291,267 dollars from Switzerland and 57,900 dollars from Bahrain on July 6.
The cumulative net outflow of 5,376,151 dollars was registered by the investors from UK; 1,256,868 dollars by Luxembourg; 2,138,473 dollars by the UAE; 5,080,518 dollars by Singapore; 3,824,758 dollars by Australia; 5,332,115 dollars by Germany and 692,750 dollars by Hong Kong at end of the first week of current fiscal year.
