First phase of the ongoing development work in New Mirpur Garden City project, exclusively meant for rehabilitating the Mangla dam raising project victims, has reached close to its completion. Official sources told APP here on Sunday that the allotment of residential plots to the displaced families would be started soon after completion of the entire mega housing project.
Development works at the similar housing project- a model town at adjoining Islamgarh town for resettlement of the victims of the dam is also in full swing. All the four towns one each at Islamgarh, Chakswari, Siakh and Dadayal would be consisted of all latest civic amenities of life, the sources added.
Development works are in full swing in the new Mirpur city project. The sources continued that New Mirpur city, comprising all modern civic amenities, was being constructed over an area of 2,600 acre of land in two phases.
The sources said that Rs 1.026 billion new garden city in Mirpur in order to re-house over 15,000 victims of the ongoing Mangla Dam raising project would be completed within the stipulated period.
The project, being developed entirely at the pattern of the federal capital - Islamabad, would be completed soon. Allotment of the plots to displaced families will start soon after completion of entire project.
