The Pakistan Cotton Ginners' Association (PCGA) has confirmed that so far there is no plan for closing Sindh Circle office at Karachi. A press release from PCGA on Tuesday said hat firstly the news in Business Recorder, published on July10, 2007 was not true.
It said: "Sindh Circle office is still working and it will work as it is, whereas this news source is not known to PCGA. Kindly confirm and take necessary action against it. This is against the reputation of your worthy newspaper and it is spoiling the image of our association. Similarly, Sindh Circle is not taking any action against this when there is no reality in this news.
"Secondly, our association is not facing any financial crisis and the subscription fee ie Rs 6000 has been approved by the Central Executive Committee and our association is receiving this fee for last 5 years. Source of this news do not know the law and they never read Trade Organisation Ordinance. According to the law, any subscription fee passed by Central Executive Committee is final and unchallengeable.
For increase of subscription fee we do not need prior approval from Director Trade Organisation. "Thirdly, regarding Cotton Standardisation Fee, our negotiation is still going on with Ministry of Textile and there is no threat of confiscation of properties of ginners on non-payment of the fee."-PR
