The DCO Hyderabad Aftab Ahmed Khatri has said multidimensional district educational plan was being formulated by the District Government Hyderabad to ensure qualitative education with punctuality and capacity building of teaching community.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of education officers and Chairman/members of District Education Monitoring Committee. The was held at Shahbaz Hall, Shahbaz Building, Hyderabad last evening and added that fixation of targets, preposition of posting plan and adoption of effective monitoring system would be main components of this district education plan.
Addressing the meeting, the DCO Hyderabad said after calculation of the experts it has been observed that government was spending more amount on the education of per student as compared by the private schools but unfortunately the outcome of government schools was far bellow the private schools. He said the purpose of this district education plan was to bring the government schools at the par of modern private schools so that poor people of the district should have facilitate of standard education at nominal rates at their doorsteps.
While discussing over the modalities for the formulation and implementation of district education plan, the DCO Hyderabad Aftab Ahmed Khatri, directed the officers of education department to prepare plan of their targets for each school up to Union Council level by July 20, 2007. He directed the officer concerned to prepare posting plan by July 30, 2007, which would be implemented from August 16, 2007 to avoid unbalanced posting of teachers at the schools.
Giving guidance, the DCO asked officers to ensure that each school should have strength of teaching staff with the ratio of one teacher for 30 students. He said in this posting plan, women teachers should be accommodated at the schools nearest their homes. He strictly directed them not to surrender before any political pressure for transfer/posting of any teacher for his/her favourable motive.
To keep strict vigilance and ensure check and balance, the DCO Hyderabad directed all the ADOs, DO, EDO education to prepare their inspection schedule to ensure that teachers/students are attending their schools accordingly and the performances of the officers/teachers to achieve their annual targets were satisfactory.
He said District Education Monitoring Committee has already been constituted and authorised to put over all vigilance on the performance of officers and teaching community and even to report their negligence if any to the Zila Council and Zila Nazim Hyderabad with their recommendations.
He said he himself also co-ordinate with all stakeholders and pay surprise visits of the schools to ensure discipline in each school. He strictly directed that Morning Prayer and Assembly of students must be revived in each school. He directed the officers to complete the assignments entrusted to them with the spirit that Hyderabad should achieve its status as the model district of the country.
The EDO Education Hyderabad Anwar Ahmed talking on the occasion, said more than 9,000 teachers of the district have been provided training under different programmes by the district government for their capacity building to ensure qualitative education. But the political interference in the schools' management and extra duties assignments to teachers other than their own professional duties were main obstacles in smooth education system in the schools.
However, he assured that the teaching community of Hyderabad district has not only accepted professional challenges but also committed to make the Hyderabad as model district in the education field. Chairman District Monitoring Committee, UC Nazim Q Hakim, EDO Education Anwar Ahmed and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
