The Karachi Port handled 91,083 tonnes cargo including 71,208 tonnes import, 19,875 tonnes export cargo and 3,937 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The cargo comprised of 59,189 tonnes dry cargo including 39,668 tonnes general cargo; 4,812 tonnes fertiliser; 12,500 tonnes coal; 2,209 tonnes cement and 31,894 tonnes oil/liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Royal Emerald, African Princess, Harmony, Corinthiakos, Nordana Andrea, APL Sokhna and Jitra Bhum sailed out to sea during the report period. Eight vessels viz Hansa Stavanger, Iran Sattari, Y M Fortune, Sinar Bandung, Blue Seas, B. Europa, Royal Emerald and Champion Artic are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely Sinar Bandung and Iran Sattari expected to sail on Thursday, while two vessels viz Hansa Stavanger and Y M Fortune expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz MT Lalazar, Sp 5-Eric G Gibson, Liberty Glory and Soraya due to arrive on Thursday, while four ships namely Shamrock Vanus, Emirates Meri, Ocean Frontier and Golina are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 8,927 tonnes chemicals; 6,465 tonnes iron ore; 3,208 tonnes cement and 27,965 tonnes containerised cargo. Five ships namely CV Nedlloyd Africa, CV Emirates Karan, CV ACX Plumeria, CV Pacheco and MV Hamburg Harmony sailed out to sea during last 24 hours.
A total of three ships namely New Toyokaze, Maersk Novazzano and Al-Mirqab carrying containers and edible oil are currently at the outer anchorage. Six vessels viz CV Nedlloye Africa, CV Pacheco, CV ACX Plumeria, MV Asco, MT Shemrock Venus and MV Hamburg Harmony are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, chemicals and iron ore respectively during the report period.
Two vessels viz CV Al-Mirqab and MT New Toyokaze due to take berths at Container Terminal and Multipurpose Terminal and respectively on Thursday. Container vessel Saudi Abha due to arrive on Thursday, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Tulip and MT Grigoroussa-1 are due to arrive on Friday.
