The Fisheries Research and Training Institute in Manawan is providing free research facilities to students of various college and university Zoology Departments in the province.
Punjab Fisheries Director General Dr Mohammad Ayub said here on Thursday that students of Punjab University, Government College University, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Lahore, Bahauddin Zakriya University Multan, Agriculture University Faisalabad would get free facilities.
He further said the Fisheries Department was also providing free-of-cost technical assistance and advisory service to the private sector in setting up new fish farms. Dr Ayub said various development projects had started in the current fiscal year to promote fisheries-related activities.
He said fish melas were being conducted regularly in tehsils to disseminate modern fish farming techniques to farmers. He also said his department had launched a project to upgrade fisheries research and training institute.
