Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that discussions and consultations with all political forces is the hallmark of any democratic culture and Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and its allies are set to contest the next general elections from one platform and on the basis of their performance.
The Prime Minister said this talking to Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali who met him at the Prime Minister's House on Sunday afternoon.
The Prime Minister said the government of PML and allies is committed to providing the basic necessities of life to the masses at their doorsteps and further improve their standard of living. He said the government is committed to supporting relief and reconstruction in the areas affected by recent floods particularly in Balochistan and the National Disaster Management Authority is carrying out relief activities in these areas.
Talking about Balochistan, the Prime Minister said, the government is working to bring stability, development and growth in the province and has adopted a holistic approach for the development of the province by simultaneously undertaking comprehensive political and economic initiatives. He said mega development projects underway in Balochistan would bring about significant change in the lives of the people.
The Prime Minister said that in addition to mega projects, numerous micro-development schemes have also been started all over the province in order to transfer the benefits of high economic growth to the masses.
The government is focusing on providing employment opportunities to the youth of 8alochistan and their quota in federal jobs has been increased to six percent, he added.
The government, he said, has also initiated training programmes in various technical fields to enable them to take maximum benefit from the jobs created for them.
The Prime Minister said that Gwadar Deep Sea Port would serve as a trade corridor for the region, linking Balochistan with Afghanistan, the Central Asian Republics and China.
Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali briefed the Prime Minister about the steps being taken by the Pakistan Hockey Federation for the promotion of Hockey in Pakistan. Both the leaders also discussed overall political situation in the country and also reviewed the status of development projects underway in Balochistan.
