The Karachi Port handled 257,958 tonnes cargo including 210,491 tonnes import 47,467 tonnes export cargo and 4,788 containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday.
The cargo comprised of 181,765 tonnes dry cargo including 108,174 tonnes general cargo; 13,440 tonnes fertiliser; 46,706 tonnes coal; 13,445 tonnes cement and 76,193 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Eleven ships namely ENY, Ju Bao Men, Ltc Calvin P. Titus, Afamia, Pretty Lady, BBC Venezuela, You Mei, Adriatic Arrow, Tarpon Santiago, OEL Shreyas and Conti Esperance sailed out to sea during the report period.
Thirteen vessels viz Conti Esperance, OEL Shreyas, Kota Halus, Gallant Wave, Nordwage, BBC Venezuela, Leed Castle, Makran, Lucky Arrow, Nord Wave, Split, Abu Kalam Azad and Gagarmayang are currently at the berths.
Four ships namely Nordwage, Bux Master, Multan and Gallant Wave expected to sail on Monday, while two vessels viz MOL Ability and Gagarmayang are expected to sail on Tuesday.
One vessel viz MT Johar due to arrive on Monday, while five ships namely Sun Flower, Lalazar, Harmony, APL Brisbane and Carla are due to arrive on Tuesday.
The cargo comprised of 18,747 tonnes iron ore; 3,596 tonnes chemicals and 22,440 tonnes containerised cargo. Two ships namely MT Venus-7 and CV Pacheco sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while another vessel viz CV MSC Socotra is expected to sail on Monday.
A total of three ships namely MSC Claudia, CMA CGM Turkey and Maersk Darmstadt carrying containers are currently at the outer anchorage. Four vessels viz CV Pacheco, CV MSC Socotra, MT Yanaseni and MV Hamburg Harmony are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, chemicals and iron ore respectively during last 24 hours.
Two container vessels viz CMA CGM Turkey and Maersk Darmstadt due to take berths at Container Terminal on Monday. Two vessels MT Sea Lion and MT Liquid Success due to arrive on Monday, while three more ships namely CV Nedlloyd Asia, MV Shad Wan Island and MV Asha Himani are due to arrive on Tuesday.
