A senior German academician Professor Diether Gebert, Chairman, Department for Organisation, Human Resource Management and Leadership, Berlin Technical University, stressed the need to make the higher education programs in different disciplines, basically research-oriented and not mere textbook-based.
Dr Gebert, as per request of Dadabhoy Institute of Higher Education (DIHE) was nominated by the senior expert services of the German Education Department, during his stay in Pakistan attempted to assess higher education programs in the city, with specific reference to private sector institutions. He shared his in-depth analysis and first hand meeting with Pakistani students as well as the teachers.
Dr Gebert blamed the lack of technical education in Pakistani students for the reason they were not able to succeed in highly competitive job markets. "Basically, the fault is in the education system from top to bottom. Students graduate from Pakistan hardly learning anything from their academic courses."-PR
