The profit after tax (PAT) of the Central Insurance Company Limited (CICL) has increased to Rs 39.576 million in the second quarter ended on June 30, 2007 as compared to Rs 18.477 million earned in the corresponding period in 2006.
The earning per share (EPS) of the company surged to Rs 2.83 in the period under review against Rs 1.32 in the same period last year. The board of directors of the company in its meeting recommended an interim cash dividend for the second quarter at Rs 1.5 per share ie 15 percent.
In an information sent to the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), it was stated that the net premium revenue of the company declined to Rs 10.370 million in second quarter of 2007 against Rs 32.906 million in the same period in 2006. However, the other income of the company increased to Rs 6.368 million in this period against Rs 0.643 million previously.
