PML-Q Central leader Kabir Ali Wasti has termed the re-election of President General Pervez Musharraf in uniform will be undemocratic and immoral. Talking to a private television network, he said the PML has capable and suitable candidates for Presidential election.
"The Constitution does not speak about the election of President Musharraf in uniform, but the steps being taken are not in the interest of Pak Army and the nation", said Kabir Wasti. He said if General Musharraf thinks that he can't get vote without uniform, he should not contest the election.
He said it is not necessary that a general should contest the election of President as we are not setting a good example for the nation and the people of the country.
Kabir Wasti said General Majeed Malik (retd), S.M. Zafar, Nelofar Bakhtiar and Ishaq Khakwani expressed their different viewpoints. He said the Parliamentary Party meeting has not supported General Musharraf as its Presidential candidate. He also denied that the Parliamentary Party meeting passed any resolution in favour of General Musharraf. He said that some leaders have expressed their reservations on the distribution of party tickets.
