The process of rice cultivation has been completed in the district but the area brought under cultivation was short of target largely due to water shortage, said District Officer (DO) Agriculture, Arshad Javed. Talking to APP, DO Agriculture said that the target for rice cultivation was 33,160 acres whereas actual area cultivated was 17,813 acres.
Responding to a question, he said rice cultivation target was not achieved last year as well due to shortage of water in the district.
