Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday telephoned President General Pervez Musharraf to greet him on country's 60th Independence Day and hoped the brotherly ties between the two countries will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
The Turkish Prime Minister in his telephone call to President Musharraf communicated heartfelt felicitations on behalf of the government and people of Turkey to the government and people of Pakistan.
Noting the remarkable progress and development made by Pakistan under the leadership of President Musharraf the Turkish Prime Minister also lauded the role of President in the fight against extremism and global terrorism. He also expressed appreciation for President Musharraf's contribution to regional stability and building unity in the Muslim Ummah.
President Pervez Musharraf thanked Prime Minister Erdogan, the Turkish government and the people for their good wishes for Pakistan.
He recalled the close fraternal ties between the two countries and said Turkey has always stood by Pakistan. He said the people of Pakistan hold their Turkish brethren in the highest esteem.
He expressed the resolve that all efforts would be made for building a closer and more meaningful relationship between the two brotherly nations.
