National Volunteer Movement (NVM) and Community Support Programme (CSP) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote activities related to promotion of volunteerism and training programmes for volunteers. Zia-ul-Haq, Director General NVM and Asif Noor, Director CSP signed the accord on behalf of their organisation here recently.
It was resolved that both the organisations would jointly engage the youth in the fields of health, sports and education specially in creating awareness against drugs abuse, HIV and AIDS. They will support each other in the activities for youth empowerment and environment development projects all over country including Northern Areas, FATA and AJK.
CSP has already been working in all these fields whereas NVM is engaged in the promotion of volunteerism in the country. The registered volunteers are mobilised for social work, community development projects and emergency management. National Disaster Management Authority has also recognised the role of NVM volunteers in these activities.
The two organisations decided to jointly execute community awareness program, development projects, advocacy campaigns for the promotion of volunteerism and youth empowerment all over country including Northern Areas, FATA and AJK.
It was also agreed that CSP would organise sports events and clean Pakistan campaign in the selected districts of the country while NVM would provide technical support in training, workshops and seminars by providing resource persons particularly. This will help in registration of volunteers and promotion of volunteerism by enhancing training and other activities in the country.
