A student killed and five were injured in a clash between two student organisations in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) on Wednesday. According to details, a clash suddenly occurred between two rival student groups Islami Jamiat Talba and Punjabi Students Association (PSA) in which four activists of IJT Sardar, Wajid, Afsar Ali and Sajjad got injuries and rushed to emergency ward of Jinah hospital.
Later on, unknown persons made an attack on emergency ward of hospital where injured activists of IJT were being treated. In this second phase of clash two more activists of IJT Ashraf Sayed and Faizan got injuries while Abdul Rehman, Nazim of Islami Jamiat Talba JPMC Unit, was died on spot due to head injuries.
Hospital sources told Business Recorder that a police mobile was deputed at the gate when unidentified persons attacked emergency ward of hospital. Police personnel did not interfere in this situation resulting in the killing of IJT Nazim.
Law enforcement agencies remained absent from the spot while the JPMC was being sprayed with bullets of Kalashnikov from Shah Latif hostel side. Syed Riaz Ahmed, spokesman of Islami Jamiat Talba told Business Recorder that body of Abdul Rehman would be sent to Multan, which is his birth place.
