Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) (PML-F) central council meeting will be held on Saturday at Kingari House in which intra-party election will be held for the slot of president, general secretary, provincial presidents and other office bearers, Al-Haj Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi, vice president Punjab PML-F told newsmen before leaving for Karachi.
He said that PML (F) head Pir Pagara will preside the meeting while PML (F) Sindh president Syed Sadarudin Shah, Sindh Assembly Speaker Syed Muzzafar Hussain Shah, PML (F) lawmakers, and other leaders in the party will attend the meeting. In the meeting, party manifesto will also be released. The manifesto has given top priority to education and to eliminating poverty in the country.
The PML (F) leader said that central council meeting would also discuss the names of the possible candidates for the forthcoming general election in the Sindh and Punjab provinces.
He added that the meeting would also discuss the option of seat adjustments with other political parties in the forthcoming elections. Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) had already asked the party members to send applications for party ticket till September 8. In interior Sindh, PML (F) is the second largest party, the PPP being the first.
It is pertinent to mention that PML (F) in a recent meeting with General Musharraf, had made it clear that the PML (F) would not merge with PML (Q) and would contest election separately in the upcoming elections. PML (F) has 16 members in Sindh Assembly, four in the National Assembly and one in the Senate.
