Minor changes were seen in the interbank market at the weekend, showing one paisa gain against dollar for buying and selling at Rs 60.66 and Rs 60.60.68, currency analysts said. The rupee did not show significant variation versus dollar due to comparatively low demand by small investors.
The rupee, however, may tumble if the demand increases for dollars, they added. In the world markets dollar trimmed losses against euro and yen during the final session after a US government report showed orders for durable goods for July came in much higher than expected. The euro pared gains against dollar to $1.3601 from $1.3615 before the data. Against yen, the dollar cut losses to 116.30 from 115.75 yen just before.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee did not show any change against dollar for buying at Rs 60.85 while it, however, managed to pick up two paisa for selling at Rs 60.90, dealers said.
The rupee, however, lost 58 paisa against euro for buying and selling at Rs 82.73 and Rs 82.85 though single European currency fell versus dollar in the globe, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee remained unchanged against dollar in Lahore currency market on Saturday. Dealers said the dollar was traded at Friday's closing level of Rs 60.80 and Rs 60.90 on buying and selling sides. The rupee slipped further against pound sterling which was sold and bought at Rs 122.30 and Rs 122.00 against the previous closing of Rs 121.60 and Rs 121.90.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee remained firm against dollar at currency establishments of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 60.90 (buying) and Rs 61 (selling) against the same overnight value. It did not observe any change in the second session and closed at Rs 60.90 (buying) and Rs 61 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at Rs 123.30 (buying) and Rs 123.70 (selling) against the previous rate. It did not observe any change in the evening session and closed at Rs 123.30 (buying) and Rs 123.70 (selling).
