Haj Committee Member for Faisalabad, Muhammad Amjad, and other members of the Committee have emphatically demanded of the government resumption of direct Haj flights from Faisalabad to Jeddah. He reiterated that total Muslim population in Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions and adjoining areas is around 15 million.
The previous regimes had provided direct Haj flights from Faisalabad to Jeddah, and rightly so. Consequential thereto, the members of the Haj Committee and local philanthropists had made adequate arrangements for board and lodging of intending Hajis on self-help basis, which are still operational. But, for reasons not known, this arrangement has been discontinued.
