Automation of businesses is a must for gaining maximum share in the national and international trade as it provides help in decision-making as per the nature of the concerned businesses.
This was stated by Group Vice-President of Oracle Corporation Harry Ghuman, while speaking at a seminar on "Industry strategies and insights," organised by Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) here on Wednesday. He said that decision mastery framework, designed by Oracle not only provided future analysis of the business, but was also helpful in taking decision. "It generates multiple solutions for any problem and then assists in picking up the best one for any specific business," he added.
Harry said that another advantage of computerisation of the business was that the computers informed the owners about violation of rules being taken place in their companies. The automation process provided correct information on right time to executives for making value-added decisions, he added.
Harry Ghumman said that the major problem, being faced by the company in automation of any business, was non-availability of data and other related problems. "The automation is producing far more well results for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in decision-making for their rapid growth," he said. "More than 95 percent companies in Pakistan have a staff lower than 99 employees," he said while commenting on a large number of SMEs in the country.
He, however, said that 55 percent companies did not have data at right place to be utilised for the automation of the business. Harry said that software, on which any automation system was run, allowed better monitoring to maintain the international standard of transparency. "There has been huge investment in information technology (IT) and communication, which should be utilised by small companies to enhance their businesses," he said. MAP President Farooq Hassan facilitated the seminar.
