Punjab government has set aside more than Rs 700 million for the construction of two new labour complexes in Sialkot. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Wednesday that the proposed labour complexes would be established at Sialkot-Wazirabad road and Sialkot-Gondal road.
Each labour complex would consist of utility store, school, dispensary and a community hall. Besides, two new high schools for girls would also be established at Sialkot and Daska and work on these projects would soon be implemented.
The step was being taken keeping in view the importance of Sialkot and to reduce growing accommodation problems being confronted by the industrial workers of Sialkot. In addition to this the construction of social security dispensary and a utility store had already initiated in existing labour colony to facilitate the dwellers.
Apart from this development work on 100 beds social security hospital Sialkot has been further accelerated and it is expected that it would be operational in near future, sources revealed. The government would ensure all ultra modern treatment facilities in the hospital aimed at providing maximum treatment facilities to the industrial workers and their dependants at their doorstep, sources added.
