Iran and Pakistan will resume talks on gas pipeline at Tehran on September 24, said National Iranian Gas Export Company managing director here on Saturday. India-Pakistan consensus on transit fee will speed up talks and result in signing contract, said Nosratollah Seifi, blaming the two sides'' disagreement for delay in talks.
Iran, as a third party, is trying to bring two sides close to an agreement, as negotiations lacking either side will be deficient, he added. India is still negotiating terms with Turkmenistan over gas imports, Seifi said, adding construction of a gas pipeline linking two countries has been put into offer several years ago. India reserves right to hold talks with other gas holders, he added.
He said Iranian and Pakistani experts would exchange views on contract from September 24-26 and both sides officials would discuss issue on September 27.
