Second week of Ramazan incidentally-had rising trend sustained, though not necessarily had any link with Holy month of Ramazan during the week ended on September 29, 2007. Certain items fluctuated both ways depending on supply and demand.
THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WERE LEFT OUT: guwar Punjab low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1200 the other kind picked up Rs 100 to Rs 1300, Irri 6 Sindh inferior retreated by Rs 20 to Rs 1720, and the other type shed Rs 60 to Rs 1740, cotton cakes with bag better type lost Rs 5 to Rs 415 while the other type stayed put. Jute goods Hessian cloth (per 91.44 meter 745x to quoted at Rs 1950, 45x11 quoted at Rs 2100, 50x9 Thul rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1875, 45x9 closed higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1875, 50x8 Thul rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1750, and 45x8 United rose by Rs 50 to Rs 1550.
On Monday grain markets closed generally higher such as mosoor Australia rose sharply by Rs 200 to Rs 4,400. Urad Burma better type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1700, while the other type stayed put. Guwar from Sindh , better type rose by Rs 30 to Rs 2150, while the other type stayed put at Rs 1950, guwar from Punjab better type was quoted at Rs 1350, while the other type was put at Rs 1260. Irri 6 Sindh low type rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1725, the other type rose by Rs 10 to Rs 1750, and cotton cakes with bag low type rose by Rs 10 to Rs 330 and the other type gained Rs 15 to Rs 450.
Raw rubber Ceylon (per Lb) RSSV closed lower by Rs 4 to Rs 70 and Pale Crape TPC 3 quoted at Rs 80, Latex Semnan Tex lower by Rs 5 to Rs 450 and Thai (G.T) retreated by Rs 5 to Rs 450.
On Tuesday slight downward drift seen in grain markets. Gram garda shed Rs 25 to RS 2875 while other type quoted at Rs 3000. Gram garda dal better type shed Rs 25 to Rs 2575 while the other type was put at previous level. Beetle 50x50 inferior type shed Rs 25 to Rs 2890, dal beetle low type shed Rs 25 to Rs 3575, cotton cakes lost Rs 10 to Rs 420 while the other type was quoted at Rs 330.
On Wednesday trend weakened on grain markets Irri 6 Sindh low type retreated by Rs 10 to Rs 1735, while better type lost Rs 25 to Rs 1825. Sugar better kind lost Rs 30 to Rs 2750 the other type was put at Rs 1700, gur superior one shed Rs 200 to Rs 3300, cotton cake with bag low type lost Rs 10 to Rs 320, while other type was quoted Rs 5 less to Rs 415.
On Jodpa Bazar Kirana item like black pepper from Ceylon retreated by Rs 100 to Rs 9000, black pepper from Brazil shed Rs 400 to Rs 10,000 and cloves lost Rs 200 to Rs 10,000.
On Thursday chemicals were pretty long list of changes in (per Kg) Sodium sulphate closed higher by Rs 1.50 to Rs 16, N.J. Taiwan was up Rs 3 to Rs 128, formic acid Pak rose by Rs 2 to Rs 66, formic acid from Germany rose by Rs 3.40 to Rs 76, Oxalic acid from China shed Rs 5 to Rs 110, and Citric acid from China shed Rs 2 to Rs 64. Petroleumjelly sulphonic acid hard (DDBSA) rose by Re 1 to Rs 88. PVA Japan quoted at Rs 180, and caustic Taiwan rose by Re 1 to Rs 43. Hydro sulphate China ( 88 pc) quoted at Rs 66, acetic acid Japan shed Rs 2 to Rs 88 and Korea ended lower by Rs 2 to Rs 82, Hydrogen Peroxide (35 pc) Taiwan rose by 25 paisa to Rs 33.25, Korea (five pc) up Rs 1.10 to Rs 34.10.
On grain market castorseed Lasbela rose by Rs 25 to Rs 850 and other type was quoted at Rs 875, castorseed Sindh was up Rs 25 to Rs 800, other type was quoted at Rs 825, sugar also was higher by Rs 30 to RS 2700 and other type was quoted at Rs 2780, wheat sharply higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1400 and new was at Rs 1415. Grain garda was down by Rs 25 to Rs 2850 and other type was quoted at Rs 2975. Gram dal garda Punjab also turned higher by Rs 25 to Rs 3450 and other type was quoted at Rs 3550, bajra was down by Rs 50 to Rs 1400 and other type was quoted at Rs 1600.
ON FRIDAY. ON JODIA BAZAR PLASTIC MOULDINGS HAD CHANGES: HDPE (film per Lb) Saudia 952 retreated by 75 paisa to 56.50. Mobil was down by Re 1 to Rs 55.75, HDPE blow Kuwait closed up by 75 paisa to Rs 55.75, marlex was down Re 1 to Rs 57, LLDPE Sabic 500026 was higher by Rs 2 to Rs 60.
Polypropylene tape grada India lost 50 paisa to Rs 51.25, Kuwait was lower by 50 paisa to Rs 51.25 and Saudia lost 25 paisa to Rs 51.25. Polypropylene injection grada Saudia shed 25 paisa to Rs 51.50, India shed 25 paisa to Rs 51.50 and Kuwait shed 25 paosa to Rs 51.50. Polystyrene BASF was quoted at Rs 3,300, and Pak rose at Rs 3 to Rs 3298, high impact (per bag) Pak quoted at Rs 3418. The commodities wholesale market remained close as Friday is observed as weekly holiday during Ramazan.
