Television programme of private television channels had been mysteriously suspended in several areas of the Federal Capital on Saturday compelling the weavers to watch government television channel.
The black out of the private television deprived the people of comments from the eminent commentators. Many people tried their best to contact the cable operators, but could not get satisfactory response, as their telephones were busy.
Shaukat Ali of G/7 area told this agency that private television channels were completely suspended in the afternoon. He said he tried to contact cable operators time and again, but their telephones remained busy.
He was of the view that cable operators are acting at their own and do not care to the consumers. He said this practice of the cable operators should be stopped immediately and asked them to restore the telecast of private television channels. Junaid of Sattara Market also protested on the closure of private television broadcast. He asked the PEMRA to take action against the cable operators. He said the cable operators did not take the complaints of the consumers into account. The broadcast of the private television channels remained suspended till late night.
