Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop (RPTW) and the Museum of Puppetry present a puppet exhibition of "Fun Time and Putli Kahani", a television programme for children by Faizan Peerzada. The programme's 150 characters are on display at the museum for six months, starting from October 8, 2007. The exhibition also has showcase video clips and songs from the show.
Approximately 100 episodes of the show have been recorded. Twelve episodes will be aired on the channel Wikkid. The show was designed to be a colourful collection of skits and songs.
While talking to the reporters Faizan Peerzada said that our plan was the construction of a cultural village and for this purpose, they had bought 1.5 acres of land, where shops for artisans were constructed. He said that main purpose of this cultural village was to save the artisans from the exploitation of middleman and promotion of our culture and handicrafts at international level.
The Museum of Puppetry is the first of its kind in South Asia. It has 1,160 puppets, out of which 1,110 are from Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, China, Iran, Greece, Sweden, England, the United States, Slovenia, Russia, Poland, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Ecuador.
