Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz offered Eid-ul-Fitr prayers here at the Faisal Mosque. Thousands of faithful from different areas of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, federal ministers, ministers of state, parliamentarians, senior civil and military officials and the Islamabad based diplomats of the Islamic countries offered prayers at the mosque.
After prayers, the prime minister mixed with the people and exchanged Eid greetings with them. On this occasion, special prayers were offered for peace, security and progress of the country, solidarity and welfare of the Ummah and early liberation of the occupied Muslim territories.
