LHC adjourns proceedings challenging NRO

Justice Syed Zahid Hussain of the Lahore High Court adjourned the proceedings for a fortnight in two identical petitions filed by bar members MD Tahir and Dilawar Hussain Baber challenging the 2007 National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO).
The court delayed the proceedings because the case is still pending with the Supreme Court. The court also told petitioner Tahir to submit interim orders by the Supreme Court till the next date of hearing. The petitioners argued the government had no authority to release any person from criminal or money laundry cases.
