The Town Administration of Rawal Town on Thursday conducted massive operation against the encroachers and confiscated dozens of carts and huge quantity of products of encroachers in busy markets.
The anti-encroachment squad of Rawal Town Municipal Administration (TMA) visited different busy markets including Liaquat Road, Bara Market, Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazar, Trunk Bazar, Bohar Bazar and Iqbal Road and impounded dozens of push carts and stalls of the encroachers and huge quantity of products.
The encroachments in these busy markets had made the life of shopkeepers, consumers and motorists miserable. Parking places were occupied by encroachers, which resulted in heavy traffic jams for hours.
Meanwhile, people have condemned the operation saying that it was just a face saving. During Ramazan encroachers were left at liberty and all the roads, streets and footpaths were encroached which made shopping difficult for people. Now, after passage of rush days, operation was started and it would not give any good message to people, they said.
They held federal railways minister and Town Nazim responsible for encroachments saying that they were encouraging encroachments in these markets to secure their votes.
