The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has launched a project to help enhance the capacity of local government's representatives by supporting institutes involved in training them.
Tagged as Districts That Work (DTW), the project is set to provide local government training institutes support in important areas to improve performance. As many as 24 trainers from four institutes, one each from every province, are currently being trained in effective training design, management and application.
The four-day training under the project is underway at a local hotel here. Talking about the methodology, master trainer Maura J Fulton said the participants would learn new skills in the training.
The focus of DTW support is to build the capacity of the faculty of these institutions in key areas of training skills, curriculum development and use of research methodologies. The DTW will also provide supportive strategic plans for the institutions and capacity building for the existing faculty in research methodologies. -PR
