Acting president of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Javed Hashmi said on Thursday that his party still stands on Charter of Democracy, though it was also endorsed by Pakistan People's Party (PPP).
Talking with newsmen after condoling with PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto over killing of 140 person during her homecoming procession at Bilawal House, he termed the blasts as attack on democracy.
"I have come to condole on Thursday but PML (N) leader Nawaz Sharif condoled just after the two blasts in PPP procession," Hashmi added. He was of view that all political parties should work collectively for restoration and supremacy of the democracy in the country. "We have to move forward after letting aside the political differences amongst the parties," he added.
Javed Hashmi said that Ms Bhutto also agreed with me that all parties should adopt a unified agenda to safeguard the national interest. "Dictatorial regimes have brought the country at verge of destruction," he said and added that time had come to end the dictatorship in the country.
