British Airways has announced increase in its number of flights from three to six between Islamabad and London (Heathrow) per week, Paul Dhami, the Country Manager of British Airways told the media here on Wednesday.
British Airways is spreading its operations in Pakistan by doubling its scheduled flights between Islamabad and London (Heathrow) to six flights each week, to cater for the increased passenger demand between the two countries. According to Paul Dhami Boeing 777s to be used in the new schedule increasing the overall capacity by 52 percent, with 44 percent premium capacity.
Three flights a week have four cabins: First, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveler while three flights a week have three cabins: Club World, World Traveler Plus and World Traveler.
"These additional flights will increase the British Airways World Cargo capacity from Islamabad by 100 percent," Paul disclosed. He added that these new rotations come on the back of the new Pakistan freight routings that were introduced earlier this year. Paul told the media that the flights would offer alternating flight times on different days at 8:15 am and 12:30 pm for even greater choice.
"In addition, starting next April, British Airways flights from Pakistan will be handled at Terminal 5, British Airways exclusive hanger at Heathrow. It's a state-of-the-art facility which will speed up passenger movement and make the whole airport experience more enjoyable," Paul explained. While replying a question, Paul said, "We have focused on Islamabad initially for additional flights but may start it from the other cities like Lahore, Karachi as well.
