A meeting of Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (Reap) was held to discuss present scenario of rice market and to find out means and ways to control the higher/increasing prices of rice in Pakistan, particularly after the news of Indian government ban on export of non-basmati rice.
The meeting was chaired by Muhammad Arshad Khaliq, acting chairman of Reap. The meeting discussed the issue and noted that although the ban was lifted on certain conditions. Even if the ban is lifted but there is no impact on the local market. Still price of rice is not controlled and increase in price is not yet witnessed.-PR
