Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) in collaboration with National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) would examine the database of its beneficiaries countrywide for disbursement of speedy and transparent financial aid.
This was stated by Managing Director PBM Brigadier Muhammad Sarfraz (Retd) while talking to Chairman Nadra Brigadier Saleem Ahmed Moeen (Retd), who visited PBM headquarter here on Friday. The Managing Director PBM briefed the visiting Chairman about the on-going projects and achievements of Bail-ul-Mal. Brigadier Sarfraz said that Bait-ul-Mal is benefiting more than 16 million deserving people through its 100 projects across the country.
He said that "PBM is significantly contributing towards poverty alleviation through its various poorest of the poor focused services". Managing Director PBM said that we are providing assistance to widow, orphan, destitute, invalid, infirm and other needy persons, as per eligibility criteria approved by it.
He said PBM has the transparency and ability to reach the deserving people by investigating through its own resources. Brigadier Sarfraz said Bait-ul-Mal is also providing assistance for education to needy students and also stipends for the outstanding students for higher professional education.
Besides, he said we have set up national centers for Rehabilitation of Child Labour to educate street and working children. Uniforms, books, stationery to the students are also provided by PBM. He said that passed out students from these rehabilitation centers are admitted to the government schools for further education upto 8th class with annual stipend of Rs 4100 per student.
Later, Chairman Nadra appreciated the efforts and projects of PBM and ensured assured that "we would provide every technical facility to PBM for completion of its projects".
