Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Co-ordination Salim Safiullah Khan has directed the high ups of SNGPL to complete the mega gas supply project to the southern districts of NWFP on priority basis and prepare the cost estimates for gas supply to left over town and villages.
Presiding over a meeting here Saturday Salim Saifullah Khan said that Southern District had big reserves of various minerals and the government was keen to exploit these reserves for the up lift of the people.
The Minister directed that work on gas supply projects for Lakki, Tank and D.I Khan Districts should be further expedited and cost estimates for the gas supply to Serai Naurang, Pezzu, Ghazni Khel, Tatar Khel and Shahbaz Khel be worked out immediately so that necessary funds for the project could be arranged. Earlier, the Minister was informed that mega gas project for the six Southern Districts will be completed at a cost of Rs 2018 millions by the end of December 2007. He was told that 313 kilometres supply lines and 316 kilometers distribution lines have been laid to facilitate the gas connections to the consumers.
