Security tightened in Peshawar

Security has been put on high alert in provincial capital after declaration of emergency in the country to foil the nefarious designs of saboteurs and anti-state elements.
"The city police have put security on high-alert and patrolling in uniform as well as in plain clothes were intensified to keep a close watch on the movement of suspicious elements," a senior police official told APP on Sunday.
The city police officers have been directed to take extraordinary precautionary and preventive measures to further tighten security at public places likes hotels, railway stations, bus stops, markets, cinemas, mosques and educational institutions, the official added.
Round-the-clock police patrolling is also underway at the main shopping malls and other business centers to keep vigil on unscrupulous elements, the official added.
