Seeds, wheat and sugar prices were higher on the grain market on Monday as supply from upcountry was tight stations, dealers said. On the seeds side, cottonseed oilcake low type was up by Rs 10 to Rs 1500 and good type gained Rs 50 to 1550, they said. Cakes low variety plus Rs 15 to Rs 510 and good type picked up Rs 20 to Rs 520, they said.
Cottonseed with bag new, low type did not show any change at Rs 675 while the good type was up by Rs 10 to Rs 690, they said. Cottonseed old, low type gained Rs 50 to Rs 550 and good type picked up Rs 10 in process of trading, dealers said.
Sugar best type remained on the upward march, gaining Rs 20 to Rs 2650 while low type maintained weekend level at Rs 2600. Other items maintained their overnight levels, they said. On the cereals side, wheat old and new both were sharply higher by Rs 25 to Rs 1550 and Rs 1565 during the day, they added.
