The perpetually changing dynamics of the marketplace has made information and communication technology a critical resource to sustain competitive advantage. Multiple sources of data information repositories remain disparate for lack of consolidation simply due to absence of connectivity between the multiple data and information hosting location.
This diaspora binds decision makers to delay and postpone decisions critical to their business for reasons of absence of reliable and secure connectivity infrastructure.
As businesses switch to sophisticated applications like ERP, SCM, CRM, Electronic Document Management System, Data-Warehousing etc, in short their content, the demand for data increases exponentially which concurrently requires larger connectivity resources ie bandwidth Wateen Telecom's Data Network infrastructure has been established to resolve these business dilemmas. A country-wide long haul Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) network spanning over 5,500km and growing, supported by OFC Metropolitan Networks in 20 cities of the country and further accentuated by our WiMAX Broadband network collectively perform reliable, secure and rapid information delivery for business and decision makers.
WATEEN'S VISION TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS:
As "one stop shop" for all your connectivity needs, Wateen Telecom is committed to adding value to your business. Here are few examples to illustrate what we can do for you:
-- Banking and Non-Banking Financial institutions
Interconnecting various branches of a bank (ATMs, retail branches etc) across Pakistan and putting them on a secure VPN.
-- Manufacturing Industries
Providing inter-connectivity to different participants in the customers' value chain where the manufacturer sends raw material requirements in real time for JIT (Just-in-Time) Production.
-- Retail Industries
Sending real time inventory information to suppliers and other retail braches to optimise logistics, transportation, and inventory management.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS: Interconnecting various educational institutions / universities to enable them in sharing research publications, share confidential research, broadcast lectures, etc.
-- Governmental and Semi-Governmental Organisations
Helping the government and NGOs reach remote rural areas for providing information on medicine, farming, etc and reach citizens to deliver government services.
-- IP/MPLS - VPNs
VPN is a set of sites which are allowed to communication with each other using a Shared Public Network Infrastructure to emulate Private Network facilities for your geographically spanned business.
MPLS tunnels (VPN) are the most efficient tunnelling technology compared to other technologies existing today.
VPN Service offers a cost-effective way to expand a network geographically or to replace expensive dedicated circuits such as leased Lines, Frame Relay, or ATM networks. An L3 MPLS VPN service is an attractive option because it provides full-mesh capabilities and more bandwidth in WAN, at a lower financial expense.
-- Savings in Management of the Network infrastructure.
The layer 3 peer-to-peer model reduces the demands on the CE device (low CPU trend, less IDB, and so forth). This is achieved via an improvement over the overlay model of traditional Layer 2 offering.
-- Any-to-Any Connectivity
By peering with Wateen Telecom's network at Layer 3, each of your sites can be configured with IP route-reachability to all your other sites. This allows any-to-any connectivity and offers more efficient routing compared to ensuring connectivity between spokes in a traditional hub-and-spoke topology. This is an important advantage where there is a growing trend toward distributed applications and VoIP. The support MPLS helps ensure that end-to-end QoS provided by networking traffic is given the appropriate priority through the network.
-- E2E Connectivity With Our Data Services
Wateen Telecom Provides a comprehensive End-to-End (E2E) solution for data connectivity for your business. You can capitalise on our long haul network to move your data and information between your offices across the country. And within the city you may choose to take advantage of either our metro OFC network or WiMAX (802.16e) industry standard which is integrated with Wateen's IP/MPLS back-bone. The diagram on the right illustrates how we accomplish this task for your business. With Wateen Telecom's implementation connection-less IP appears as connection-oriented. You can have multiple VPNs each corresponding to a different community of interest, eg;
-- A different group of end users/departments,
A VPN per external business partner, ie Extranet, Furthermore, MPLS merges the benefits of ATM's Quality of service classes and reliability with IP's flexibility for any-to-any connectivity. MPLS offers connectivity through VPNs at Layer3.
-- Why Wateen Telecom
Our primary objective is to enable you to focus on your core business while we manage your content delivery effectively and efficiently. With Wateen Telecom's unique breadth and depth of services you gain access through a single window.
Wateen Telecom owns Long Haul and Fully redundant Metro Rings that are capable of supporting very high data rates, thereby providing circuits on its own network which is fully secure.
Bundled services such as voice and Internet that eliminates the hassle of multiple billing at a lower financial impact. A one-window operation for all internet, voice and data related issues.
Our ability to guarantee QOS and enter into customised SLA's since we offer end-to-end solutions optimising entirely our own network.
Value added products and services such as data centers, disaster recovery sites, co-location, Tele-housing, and contact centers, etc that leverage economies of scale and help in growing your business.
Wateen Telecom's last mile delivery through WiMAX overcomes the penetration limitation that traditional ISPs have due to lack of infrastructure in metro and suburban areas. Access to wireless broad band internet and data connectivity in rural areas not presently covered by existing mediums.
A secure network which keeps internet traffic away from your data and content. An ensured level of service that can only be offered by an end-to-end connectivity provider such as Wateen Telecom.
-- How Secure is Your Data
MPLS VPN networks provide the same level of security as Layer Two (L2) VPN networks such as frame Relay and ATM. MPLS VPN networks offer address space separation, routing separation, and are resistant to attacks and label spoofing.
SOME FEATURES OF WATEEN TELECOM'S STRONG END-TO-END CONNECTIVITY SECURITY ARE:
-- Strong mutual authentication between CPE and WiMAX network based IEEE 802.16 'e'.
-- PKM EAP Authentication Traffic Encryption Control Handover Key Exchange Multicast/Broadcast Security Messages, etc.
-- Data integrity, replay protection, confidentiality and non-repudiation using applicable key lengths.
Over the air security using 3DES (Triple DES).
-- MPLS augments native IP-based networks with a broad spectrum of data separation route separation, packe1 filtering, and network concealment mechanisms.
MPLS VPNs are completely isolated. It is impossible to intrude into a VPN either from the internet or another VPN. Customers can freely choose their private network address space, eg VLAN-tag, private IP addresses, private MAC addresses.
