Leader of 24-member trade delegation from Kermanshah Province of Iran and Deputy Director of Commerce Organisation of Kermanshah city, Daaryash Panahi has said that Iran wants to improve its trade and economic relations with Muslim world in general and with Pakistan in particular.
Speaking at a meeting of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Thursday evening, he said that purpose of the visit is to see existing opportunities of co-operation between the two countries.
He said that there are number of products which can be imported in Iran from Pakistan. Likewise, there are number of goods which can be exported from Iran to Pakistan.
About Kermanshah Province, Daaryash Panahi said Kermanshah is located beside the board of Iraq and provides best opportunity to Pakistan business community to increase trade with Iraq through Kermanshah. He invited Pakistani business community to visit Kermanshah and see the existing opportunities of trade and investment.
Giving a detail picture of the Kermanshah Province, he said that it has developed industrial and agriculture base. It is producing edible oil, petroleum products, livestock, marble etc. Pakistan is main export partner of chickpeas from Iran it is very important and strategic export cereal and pulse product for Kermanshah.
Referring to present political situation in Pakistan Consul General of Iran, Masood Mohammed Zamani termed it as Pakistan's internal matter and hoped that condition will improve in near future. Present internal political situation in Pakistan will have no impact on Pakistan Iran relations, he added. Masood Mohammed Zamani invited Pakistan business community to visit Iran and hold single country exhibition in Kermanshah.
Speaking next, Expert of foreign trade Kermanshah Commerce Organisation, Majid Emaminia proposed setting up a joint chamber of commerce of Karachi and Kermanshah to work jointly for promoting two way trade and suggesting practicable ways for removing trade barriers. Welcoming the guests, President KCCI, Shamim Ahmed Shamsi apprises the delegation about chamber, its working and existing potential of two ways trade.
