Insurgents killed at least 14 people across Iraq on Sunday, including five in a car bomb attack targeting a top finance ministry official, security officials said. Five people were killed and nine injured when a car bomb exploded alongside the finance ministry official's passing convoy, security officials said.
The bomb exploded near the Al-Hurriyah Square in central Baghdad's Karrada neighbourhood. The finance ministry official, whose identity was not immediately known, escaped unhurt but one of his bodyguards was injured in the blast, the officials added.
