The lineup of vessels waiting to load sugar in Brazilian ports fell to 39 ships waiting from 47 ships waiting two weeks ago, shipping agent Williams said. In a weekly report, Williams said 29 vessels were lined up in the southern port of Santos, compared with 33 last week. There were 7 vessels at Paranagua, up from 6 two weeks ago.
The center-south, which accounts for 85 percent of national sugar cane output, has already harvested around 85 percent of a record crop. Santos port accounted for 80 percent of the sugar tonnage being loaded in Brazilian ports.
